Live Behind the Lens

I wish I could live behind the lens of my camera. When I see the world through a viewfinder, everything jumps out in angles, tones, apertures. The world screams to be captured on film. A sense of belonging lingers behind this piece of equipment, as if there is where I belong. The world seems bright and real and full of detail. I wish I could explain the world through film. All of its raw energy, all of its flaws and perfections. Seeing through the lens and coming back again leaves so much to be desired, so much to be shared, so much left undone. I wish I could dwell there, even if not physically, to share the magnificence of photography with those willing. The lines and shadows, the composition and possibilities. I wish I could bring everyone to that place of ultimate creativity at least once. It makes the world a different place in reality - once you've seen it through the scrutiny of a lens. And it is beautiful, majestic, compelling.
